How the materials are calculated
Every allowance is an editable input. The calculator uses only user-provided dimensions and rates, rather than assuming regional products or construction codes.
- Tile area = tile length × tile width; nominal tile count = surface area ÷ tile area.
- Order tiles = ceil(nominal count × (1 + cutting allowance)).
- Order boxes = ceil(order tiles ÷ tiles per box).
- Adhesive bags = ceil(surface area ÷ stated adhesive coverage per bag).
- Grout bags = ceil(surface area ÷ stated grout coverage per bag).
Important exclusions
No layout optimisation, joint geometry, levelling, waterproofing, trims, thresholds, primer, substrate treatment, or batch variation is assumed. Packaging coverages are product-specific, not universally correct.
